Privacy Policy
Effective September 13, 2026 · Covers the LagKing mobile app and lagking.com
LagKing is built by a small team. We collect the minimum we need to run the product, we don't run ads, and we never sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Account information. If you create an account you can sign in with Google, Apple, or an email address and password. We receive the name and email your provider shares. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email. You can also choose a handle and display name for your profile.
- Putting data. Your putt measurements (speed, projected distance, direction category) are stored on your device. When you're signed in, finished practice sessions are also saved to your account so you can restore them on a new phone; sessions from signed-out play stay on your device only. If you use social features — friends, challenges, leaderboards — the data needed to run them (your handle, display name, and challenge results) is stored in our cloud database and visible to the participants of those features.
- Device connection. The app uses Bluetooth solely to connect to your LagKing gate and receives the gate's measurements and status (for example battery level and firmware version). We do not collect your location.
- Usage analytics. The app records events (like app opens and feature use) with a user/session identifier, app version, and platform so we can fix bugs and improve the product.
- Notifications. If you enable push notifications we store a device push token to deliver them. You can turn notifications off anytime in settings.
- Website. If you join the waitlist we store your email with our email provider. The site records anonymous visit events (a random visitor id and how you found us) to measure interest. We choose the most privacy-preserving settings we can for these tools.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your card number.
How we use it
- To run the product: sync your profile and challenges, connect to your gate, deliver notifications you asked for, and provide support.
- To improve the product: aggregate usage and diagnostics.
- To contact you about your order, your account, or material changes to the service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising.
Who processes it
We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, push messaging, analytics storage) and an email service provider for waitlist and transactional email. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
Retention & deletion
Account and social data are kept while your account is active.
Deleting your LagKing account
You can delete your account and all of its cloud data from inside the app, at any time: open Settings, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete Account, type DELETE to confirm, and confirm once more. You will be asked to re-confirm your identity with your sign-in provider first.
This permanently deletes your account, your username, your profile and badges, your putting index, your friends list and friend requests, your leaderboard entries and challenge history, and the practice history saved to your account. Finished matches stay visible to your opponents with their own scores, but your name is removed and shown as “deleted”. Practice history saved on your phone (putts, sessions, guest profiles) is not deleted — it belongs to the device and keeps working without an account; delete the app to remove it.
If you would rather not use the in-app flow, or you can no longer sign in, email support@lagking.com and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
Children
LagKing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted (TLS), access to production systems is restricted, and we follow industry-standard practices appropriate for a product of our size.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email support@lagking.com and we'll honor reasonable requests regardless of jurisdiction.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and notify you in the app if the change is material.
