Returns & Warranty
Effective September 20, 2026 · Applies to LagKing gates and accessories ordered at lagking.com on or after that date, for personal use in the United States
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
- 30 days from delivery, any reason, no questions asked. If LagKing doesn't make your practice better, send it back.
- Start with an email. Write to support@lagking.com and we'll send a return authorization with the address. We can't accept a return that arrives without one.
- Full refund of the purchase price to your original payment method, within 10 business days of the gate reaching us, once we've checked it is complete and working. No restocking fee.
- Return shipping: you cover return postage (it ships back in the same compact box, typically around $10).
- One return per customer or household.
- What to send back: the gate, the phone mount, and the USB charging cable. If you ordered an Alignment Dock and want it refunded too, put it in the same box. Keep the alignment jig; it does not need to come back. Normal signs of use are completely fine and never reduce your refund. It's a training aid, we expect you to have used it, and scuffs and ball marks are exactly what that looks like. We do need the gate back in working order.
- Your Alignment Dock (add-on): we refund it only when it comes back. Send it in the same box as the gate and we refund both. Keep the dock, and we refund the gate alone.
- If the gate is defective, that's not a return. It's a warranty claim (below), and we pay all shipping.
- If a returned gate has damage the warranty does not cover (a full-swing strike, a drop, or water, for example; the full list is below), we subtract what it costs to repair it from your refund, up to the full price if it cannot be repaired. We email you the amount before we do anything, and you can have the gate sent back to you instead, at your shipping cost.
12-Month Limited Hardware Warranty
- Coverage: a defect in your gate, for 12 months from delivery. A defect means the gate stops working the way it should in normal indoor putting practice, through no fault of yours: putt detection and measurement, electronics, charging, the power switch, the status light, the wireless connection, or the case. The warranty covers the person who bought the gate at lagking.com and anyone they give it to. It does not carry over when a gate is resold. No receipt needed: we keep your order record.
- No registration required. There's no card to send in and nothing to forget — your order and the gate's serial number are the registration. Gifts are covered automatically from the original delivery date.
- The battery is covered too, to a number: if your gate can no longer run 4.5 hours of active use on a full charge within the first 12 months (it's about 6 hours new), that's a defect, and we repair or replace it under this warranty. We verify it remotely from the gate's own health diagnostics — measured, not argued. Above that line, gradual capacity loss is normal wear.
- Ball strikes: being hit by putts is the job — the gate expects it and the firmware recovers from it on its own. Marks and scuffs from ball contact are normal and are never a fault. If a putted ball ever stops your gate working, that's covered — once within your 12-month term, after which impact damage moves to the flat-fee service below. The cap is there because we'd rather cap it honestly than promise something a training aid can't deliver forever. (Full-swing shots, chips and club strikes are not putting, and deliberately firing balls at the gate isn't either.)
- Shipping on a confirmed fault: in the first 30 days after delivery we pay both ways. After that you send the gate to us and we pay the trip back. Repair or replacement costs you nothing for parts or labor. We tell you the expected turnaround up front (our target is about a week in our hands, plus transit) and keep you posted. Replacements carry the balance of your warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.
- Remedy: at our option, we repair, replace (with a unit of equal function), or refund.
- Firmware and app updates are free, regardless of warranty status.
- What the warranty does not cover is listed in full in the next section.
What the warranty does not cover
The warranty covers a defect in your gate. It does not cover damage, or a gate that stops working, from any other cause. If putt measurement, charging, or anything else stops working because of how the gate was used, stored, or handled, that is not a defect. This includes, without being limited to:
- Misuse and neglect. Any use other than indoor putting practice as the setup guide describes, rough handling, charging from anything other than a standard 5 V USB source, and problems with measurement or charging that misuse caused.
- Impacts other than a putt. Full-swing or chipped shots, club strikes, deliberately hitting balls at the gate, and being stepped on, kicked, sat on, or crushed. Also any impact damage after the one covered ball-strike claim in your 12-month term.
- Drops and accidents. Falls, knocks, damage in a bag, a car, or a move, damage by children or pets, and any other accident.
- Liquid, weather, and surroundings. Water or any other liquid, rain, damp, condensation, outdoor use, sand or dirt inside the case, heat (a hot car, direct sun, a heater), freezing cold, fire, smoke, lightning, and power surges.
- Opening, modifying, or repairing. Damage done while the case is open or while the battery is being removed or replaced, modifications, repairs or parts that did not come from LagKing, and firmware or software that did not come from LagKing.
- Wear and appearance. Scratches, scuffs, ball marks, dents, fading, and any other change that does not stop the gate working, and gradual battery capacity loss above the 4.5-hour line.
- Loss. A gate or part that is lost or stolen, and damage on the way back to us caused by poor packing (we send packing instructions).
- Things that are not the gate. A problem caused by your phone or tablet, its settings or operating system, your network, or another app or device; and your floor, mat, putter, or balls.
- Who, where, and how it was bought. Commercial, instructional, rental, or demo use (buying for a business? email us first); a gate that was resold; a gate not bought at lagking.com; use outside the United States; and a gate whose serial label has been removed or defaced.
- The Alignment Dock. This warranty covers the gate. It does not cover the Alignment Dock add-on, or any damage to the floor or putting surface a dock was fixed to. You can return a dock for a refund under the 30-day guarantee above.
If the cause is not a defect in the gate, this warranty does not cover it, whether or not it appears in the list above. Most of it can still be fixed: see our service program below. Using your own standard 5 V USB charger or cable is fine and voids nothing.
After the warranty: our current service program
- This is the service we offer today for months 13 to 24 and beyond. It is not part of the warranty: prices and availability can change, and a repair depends on parts being available for your model.
- $49 flat battery service — send it in, we fit a new battery and pay the shipping back.
- $89 flat repair, any fault — parts and labor; if it's unrepairable you get a refurbished replacement instead.
- Year 3 and beyond: 25% off a current-model replacement with trade-in of your old unit (we refurbish or recycle it, including proper handling of the lithium cell).
How to start a return or claim
Fastest: run lagking.com/debug from the phone next to your gate (about 2 minutes). It reads the gate's built-in health record and sends it to us with your note — most claims are confirmed from that alone, and a good share of "broken" turns out to be fixable remotely with no box and no wait.
Or email support@lagking.com with your order number and a short description (a quick video helps). We aim to respond within 2 business days.
This is a limited warranty. To the extent the law allows, implied warranties last only as long as this written warranty, we are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the gate. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
We may change this policy at any time. The gate you buy is covered by the version in effect on the day you ordered it.
